Scott Walker’s Mess

I wrote this editorial on behalf of the Oregon Daily Emerald today. It premises around Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s sham budget bill that remove’s the collective bargaining rights of teachers. Since the bill was proposed, 14 senators have left the state in protest to keep it from being passed. Demonstrations have also erupted in Madison, where everyone from teachers to the police are standing in solidarity with public employees.

The governor was pranked last week by the “Buffalo Beast” in which editor Ian Murphy pretended to be billionaire David Koch, the man who funded anti-union ad campaigns. The audio can be found here.
